Update 30.12.08

Safety of Christmas Trees: Someone has contacted the fire brigade suggesting that the lights for the Christmas Trees at Kingston Quay are not properly installed and therefore constitute a fire hazard. In response to this complaint, a representative from Strathclyde Fire Brigade visited the development on Wednesday 24th December to inspect the lights. The committee would like to reassure everyone that SFB was 100% satisfied that they were properly installed and could not find anything which constituted a danger of any sort.

Burst Pipes: Some people may be aware that a leak in the cold water supply pipe on the 3rd floor of 220 (core D) caused extensive flooding. The damage was kept to a minimum by the quick actions of Alex and his staff who worked beyond their agreed hours on Christmas Eve to clear this up. Chris McAdam (an owner who has been very helpful) also worked hard to help sort out the problem while waiting on a plumber. All their efforts have saved the development a considerable amount of money and heartache, and the committee would like to thank them all most sincerely for their hard work. Please note that the leak was caused by an inferior connecting pipe. Given that this type of connection is probably being used throughout the development, the committee will be highlighting this in the forthcoming inspection for the purposes of presenting to the N.H.B.C.

Happy New Year!: The committee would like to wish all owners and residents a very Happy New Year.

Call to owners and residents for NHBC experiences

The KQ Residents' Committee are keen to hear about owners/resident's experiences with NHBC in order to create a comprehensive file of complaints and issues. Please let us know if you have been in contact with NHBC regarding your property, when you first contacted them, the nature of your complaint and the stage you are currently at with it. If you have an NHBC reference number, please let us know what it is. Should a full building survey be undertaken in the New Year, it is anticipated that a coordinated approach will be made to NHBC. It would therefore be helpful if we could hear of your experiences. Please email the committee at kqracommittee@googlemail.com
