KQ Council Tax

Council Tax Appeal

A recent appeal raised on behalf of a number of owners was unsuccessful in all but one of the cases due to the time-barred rule.

The one outstanding appeal which is still live will be going forward for a court hearing. The date has not yet been set but it is expected to be some time in March.

Hopefully the appeal will be successful. The committee would then be able to use it as a test case in a bid to secure reduction for all flats.

We encourage all new owners to appeal for a reduction in their council tax banding. Please note that you must start the procedure within 6 months of your purchase date.

Submit your appeal to:

Update 21.01.09

Postings - The committee minutes from 16.12.08 have now been posted as well as an owners' update from 21.01.09. Please click on these and key in your user name and password. The minutes from 14.01.09 will be posted over the next few days.

Monthly standing order – For the benefit of the KQ development and your own property, all non-paying owners/residents are encouraged to support the monthly fixed rate scheme by paying their arrears and setting up standing orders. Bank mandates can be collected from the concierge office.

Survey of building - A full structural and mechanical & electrical survey of Kingston Quay will commence on 26th January 2009 for approximately 3 days. Please can owners/residents forward details of any particular problems they are experiencing within the communal areas of the development that you would like to be looked at before this date? Please email kqracommittee@googlemail.com

Underground doors/lift access – Work will soon commence on the fob systems for the doors and lifts from the underground car park. It should be noted that when these doors are in working order, access to the flats will be by fob only. If your fob is not working correctly or you need a replacement fob, please visit A&K Property Management at the concierge office. Fobs for the front gate can also be purchased at the concierge office.

No Smoking – Could all residents please note that it is an offence to smoke in the corridors and foyers of Kingston Quay. Please respect your neighbours and the development by smoking in your flat or outside the building.

Nuisance neighbours – We are trying to make Kingston Quay a nicer place to live. If you have noisy or nuisance neighbours you can report them to Glasgow City Council and the Police who have responsibility for enforcing the Anti Social Behavior (Scotland) Act 2004. Please also report your situation to the property manager. Please ask for an incident number when calling the Police.
